'An Autumn Leaf': A Poem by Melodie Jones

Falling for you was

only natural,

an uncontrollable instinct.

So, I fell.

A maroon leaf

descending from its tree

inclined by nature to do so.

And you caught me.

A soft pillow of grass

to fall into.

In your strong arms,

I was safe.
