'Geese': A Poem by Judy DeCroce

GEESE
. . . as one on the horizon
shape the blue flattened sky
they break, then knit, into
an undulating string
suddenly, a turn and away—
nowhere a trace of that leaving
higher up, clouds
bracket the view
I smile, tasting
the word, ”Yes”
soon, I will open my cage
and follow
