. . . as one on the horizon

shape the blue flattened sky

they break, then knit, into

an undulating string

suddenly, a turn and away—

nowhere a trace of that leaving

higher up, clouds

bracket the view

I smile, tasting

the word, ”Yes”

soon, I will open my cage

and follow


Judy DeCroce, a former teacher, is a poet and flash fiction writer. She is a professional storyteller and teacher of that genre. Judy lives and works in upstate New York with her husband writer/artist Antoni Ooto.
