'Snatcher' & 'Hour of the Dream': Two Poems by Rickey Rivers Jr

SNATCHER
Holding on
To the soft part
Of your neck with fangs
I suck you dry
Mix your red with my red
Then
I yank off your head.

HOUR OF THE DREAM
One-handed clock
No minutes, no seconds
Only hours
Glass covering up to twelve
Life reflected in their sight
Twice round it goes to end the day
Twice round it goes to end the day
Whisk me away to a slumber deep
Carry me off to a graceful sleep
For this wish, peace I'll keep
A single kiss; a dreamscape leap
